Office Policies
Dental VisitsAll orthodontic patients are expected to see their dentists for cleanings and regular examinations before we start, at least every 6 months during treatment, and soon after the removal of braces. Adult patients are expected to see their dentist a minimum of every 4-6 months for a cleaning and exam while fixed orthodontic appliances are in place. |
Orthodontic treatment involves a significant amount of time and commitment from the patient, their family, and our orthodontic team. The average length of treatment time is approximately two years. Appointments will vary during the active phase of treatment. The majority of appointments (adjustment visits) will be short and last approximately 15–30 minutes. However, there will also be the need for a few longer appointments that will last for more than 30 minutes. |
Before your New Patient Exam, we ask that you fill out and return the Patient Information & Health History form. If unable to return it by mail or fax, please have this form completed and bring it with you along with any insurance information/card to your first visit. Adobe Reader Required |
In order to provide the best quality of care possible, we have designed our schedule to allow us both the structure and flexibility needed to obtain our orthodontic goals. In so doing, we will be more than happy to work with you and your schedule to achieve your appointment objective. It is important to us that our patients understand our appointment policy.Financial Arrangements Treatment fees vary depending on the complexity and estimated time for completion. You will be able to discuss fees and payment options before treatment begins. Many options are available for making this investment affordable. We will work with you to fit your individual needs. Our treatment fees do not include extractions, routine dental care, or fees by other dental specialists. We do not charge for an initial evaluation, subsequent recall appointments while in our pre-orthodontic “recall” program, or routine retainer adjustment visits. Payment is due at the time of service for diagnostic records, replacement of lost or broken retainers, or retainers made due to lack of patient cooperation. Insurance If you have insurance coverage for orthodontics, we will be happy to assist you in determining the benefits available to you and your family. Flex Spending Programs These programs are designed to allow you to cover medical/dental expenses not covered by insurance. Guidelines set up by the IRS are rigid and must be adhered to. Some Flex Programs are integrated with your insurance benefits. If this is a condition of your Flex Program, you will need to inform us so that a pre-treatment estimate can be sent to your insurance company. This has a significant impact on your Flex withholdings. You must know this before establishing your withholdings. It is your responsibility to determine this. |
